The 1st Beijing Cultural Creative Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to a close in the afternoon of August 29 in Beijing Culture & Creative Industry Exhibition Center with OmeScape claiming the top prize. Spiderman Camera and appMagic received the Silver Medal. GetMoving, DeZerlin Media and Filigree Inlaid Metal Accessories took home bronze.
The six finalist projects emerged from 534 competitors and have gone through 27 preliminaries, 10 quarter-finals and a semifinal.
Yu Junsheng, the vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the Beijing municipal Party committee noted in a speech at the event that the competition helps to raise public support for innovation and entrepreneurship in the cultural industry. It builds service platforms for all enterprises by focusing on creative micro companies and integrating all kinds of innovation and entrepreneur resources.
In response to Premier Li Keqiang’s call for“Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, the competition aims to find the rising unicorns with the highest investment value, and the entrepreneurs and projects with high potential to drive the rapid development of Beijing’s cultural creative industry.

At the awards ceremony, Beijing Culture Investment and Development Co., Ltd signed investment letters of intent with some entries. Road FC, Nowdo, Genworks and Beijing Hutong Yizan were respectively the winners of the Best Annual Investment Award, the Best Annual Creative Potential Award, the Best Entrepreneurship Popularity Award and the Best Media Focus Award. Huaxia Bank provided a 1 million yuan bonus for all winning projects.
Guided by the city’s publicity department and its Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office, the competition is sponsored by the Beijing Cultural and Creative Industry Promotion Center and hosted by Oriental Jiacheng Cultural Industry Development Co., Ltd.
