Pinggu won the bid for hosting the 2020 World Leisure Congress last year.
As host of the congress, Pinggu is expected to transform Beijing from a city for sightseeing to a city for leisure. During the congress, Pinggu will hold a series of leisure industry exhibitions and tourism and culture promotion events, which will enrich people's leisure activities, improve the quality of their lifestyles and build Beijing into a world-leading livable city.
Pinggu has abundant natural resources and is praised as the "East Beijing Green Valley". It will continue to serve as the ecological zone for Beijing and improve the city’s environment.
Through hosting the event, Pinggu is positioned to become a driving force to enhance the integration of leisure industry resources and promote the regional development of Beijing Hebei and Tianjin.
