Coming to terms with a change of culture

So far I like China and have had no bad experiences. The people I've met have been friendly and helpful. I'm having problems liking the food though and I don't know why but I've just started feeling kind of sad all the time. Maybe it’s culture shock or maybe the novelty is wearing off and I'm feeling kind of lonely not having anyone going through the same things as I am. I don't have any close friends here and I'm bored a lot.

I really do like Chinese people, like I said they have been very nice. But I find it hard to talk to them since sometimes we don't always understand each other (language wise and culture wise). I'm wondering if this passes, this sort of disappointment thing.
