On June 13, Beijing plans to support the influential and outstanding integrated circuit (IC) companies with funds of 100 million yuan, according to a new policy released by the Zhongguancun Technology Park management committee and the government of the Haidian district.
Any super-large IC company in the Zhongguancun IC Park which has international influence and makes great contributions to the regional economy and IC industry will be rewarded with 100 million yuan, Meng Jingwei, the deputy chief of the Haidian district government, said.
The Zhongguancun IC Park, located in the Haidian District, will be put into use in 2018. It has 16 buildings, offering an area of 220,000 square meters, and it is designed to accommodate 150 companies, including five to eight international large ones and produce an annual value of 30 billion yuan, Miao Jun, the chairman of the IC park, said.
The Haidian government also introduced 14 more incentive polices to make it an IC cluster. For example, companies can receive a maximum of 3 million yuan as reward for research and development and returned overseas IC talent will be prioritized in solving issues concerning residency, children’s education, professional title evaluation and house renting — among other things.
On the same day, the Zhongguancun IC Park Innovation and Entrepreneurship platform was launched. It will provide financing, technological, talent cultivation and innovative incubation services to the IC industry.
