The import and export volume of Chaoyang district accounts for 40 percent of Beijing’s, with the district’s first quarter volume reaching $24.03 billion, according to the 2016 China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).

A series of economic ventures between China and Pakistan, Russia and the United States were achieved through the CIFTIS, held from May 28 to June 1. The fair this year was intended to boost the operation of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Projects to benefit Pakistan people

Eleven projects will be implemented on the Sino-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which will benefit the Pakistan people in clean energy, ecological environment protection, medicare services and intelligent traffic, according to the distribution services section of the fair.

Enterprises from Beijing, Tianjin and Shandong province will invest in Pakistan in two 20MW photovoltaic power stations, an industrial parks’ ecological program, large scale sewage treatment and joint venture public transport corporations.

E-commerce platform brings authentic Russian products

The Sino-Russia economic cooperation echoing along the Corridor in the north has reached a new e-commerce stage. Agreement on a “Russian Products More” (or e pin duo) O2O e-commerce platform was signed by the China Overseas Development Association Russia Center (CODARC) and Russia’s Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Support Department.

Consisting of online shopping malls and about 300 directly operated stores and franchised outlets, the e-commerce platform will deliver authentic Russian products like caviar and vodka right to purchasers’ doorsteps. The platform’s sales volume may exceed 1 billion yuan ($151.7 million) in five years, which would make it the largest Russian products sale outlet in China.

More audiences to view outstanding Chinese documentaries

At the distribution services section of the fair, investors from China and the US signed contracts to establish a ten billion yuan Chinese New Documentary Cinema Fund, which will be used for documentary film development and to build 10,000 new-mode cinemas in China.

It’s estimated that 100 to 500 cinemas will be built in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou by the end of 2017, allowing more audiences to view outstanding Chinese documentaries.
