Denuoyijie biological technology Co. has successfully developed a Zika virus antibody diagnostic, and it has been sent for use in relevant research institutions. The company is the third enterprise in E-town to develop technology to fight the Zika virus.

Denuoyjie biological Co. is a high-tech enterprise integrating accurate genomic, proteomics and cell genomics detection. The detection method developed by this company will make it possible to conduct a census of previous infections. The development of the antigen will also provide technical support for the development of Zika virus vaccines, and vaccine testing assay reagents.

The outbreak of the Zika virus began in early 2015 in Brazil, then spread to South and North America. The virus can be transmitted from an infected pregnant woman to her fetus, then cause microcephaly and other severe brain anomalies in the infant. Zika virus is spread mainly by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is commonly found throughout the tropical and subtropical Americas.

Eighteen cases have been confirmed in China as of April 11.
