A press conference concerning the cultural cooperation discussion between China and 16 CEEC countries was held in Beijing Garden Expo yesterday afternoon. Speakers of five panel discussion groups concluded their information exchange on music, dance, theater, children's theatre and arts cooperation in the past three days.

Music

Musicians from both sides shared their new cross cultural creations and discussed how to establish a sustainable model for cooperation. They reached an agreement that the premises of cooperation are an efficient protection of their own culture and show respect to each other's traditions.

According to Liu Shun, music director of the Forbidden City Chamber Orchestra of China Conservatory of Music, he and 15 composers from 13 CEEC countries have visited Guangdong, Fujian, Gansu and Shaanxi to collect folk songs.

"A creation alliance mainly made of musicians is our common wish," Liu said.

Artists from CEEC countries expected to start the cooperation from deepening the learning from both sides. Also they hoped to give young musicians more chances.

"Our cooperation will bear '30 babies', say, 30 new creations, I hope more people would come to our concerts," Liu added.

"Last year's performance I watched in Beijing is really impressive and I bought a lot of CDs. Looking forward to the 2017 Cultural Season," said Guntars Kirsis, member of the board of the State Concert Agency "Latvijas Koncerti".
