A news conference for the India - China City project was held in the China National Convention Center on May 6. Li Jun, president of the board of directors of Wanxinsheng Holdings, said at the conference in launching India – China City that the project brings a new perspective to middle and small-sized enterprises in China.

India - China City, in response to the government’s ‘One Road One Belt’ policy, aims to solve the current problem of excess production capacity of Chinese enterprises by encouraging small and middle-sized companies ‘to go out’ to external markets. India - China City also accords with the policy of friendly development between the two countries, allowing Indian people to enjoy Chinese commodities with good quality and low prices, solving the problem of insufficient goods and materials in India, and boosting the rapid development of local economies.

At the news conference, Mr. Li Jun, president of the board of directors of Wanxinsheng Holdings, said that the establishment of India - China City could not only create more consumption opportunities, but also considerably increase employment. The industrial park supporting India - China City has adopted the commercial mode of store in the front and factory in the back; it produces and processes desired goods and reduces costs.

Before settling down, the project invited an international professional investigation team to make a market feasibility study, providing a strong assurance for the investor and developer. Wanxinsheng Holdings also invited the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University to work on the project’s architectural planning.

Mr. Themla John David, an agent of the Embassy of India in China and director of the Economic Department of India in China also described the promise of India - China City and his hope of deeper cooperation between the parties.

The largest obstacles to Indian development are insufficient resources and a weak infrastructure. As these problems cannot be solved quickly, the best way to improve economic development in India is through international cooperative ventures such as India - China City.
