The city of Nanyang, Henan province has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Beijing Capital Group, a conglomerate with core business in environmental protection, infrastructure, real estate, and financial services, to help the city develop a green economy and improve its ecology, on Nov 16.
The deal calls for the Group to put 10 billion yuan ($1.6billion) into urban construction over the next five years, in such fields as equipment manufacturing, environmental protection parks, and sewage treatment plants.
The mayor of Nanyang, Cheng Zhimin, in commenting on the deal at the signing ceremony, said, "The Capital Group is an outstanding State-owned enterprise with a good reputation and great social impact and the agreement is a good beginning of cooperation for both and we will make every effort to support their projects so they run smoothly in our city."
Li Songping, the Group's general manager, said that Nanyang is the largest city with the largest population in Henan, and that they will make full use of funding, technology and management advantages to develop urban construction, environmental protection and a green economy.
