Wang Yajing, born in 1967, operates a village homestay in Beijing's Changping district.

Last year, Wang went shopping with her younger sister and happened to witness an attempted murder – a man chased the driver in a black car. Soon the black car got struck in a traffic jam, and the man stabbed the driver with a sharp knife.
The driver's abdomen kept bleeding and he was mortally wounded. Wang hurried to push the murderer away and drive the man's car to the nearest hospital and called the police.
However, the hospital was not qualified to give first-aid for such a serious injury. Wang drove him to an emergency rescue center with a police car. Meanwhile, she talked with him to keep him awake.
With her brave behavior and basic first-aid skills, the injured man received timely medical treatment and prevented tragedies in two families.
Wang is successful businesswoman in her village with more than a dozen years' experience, and always has social responsibility in her mind. In her spare time, Wang takes care of a childless couple in neighborhood, covering their daily expenses and even built them a new house.
