The Kendal Mountain Film Festival, a globally renowned event for outdoor extreme sports fans held a program at Peking University last week.

At the program, 17 extreme sports videos were shown. The films covered rock climbing, mountaineering and paragliding among other outdoor extreme sports. Participants also shared their experiences during the program.

The Pakistani film, K2 and the Invisible Footman, was the highlight of the program.

Among the other films screened were Sound of Paragliding (France) and Magamoon (the United States).

The festival, which began in 1986, is an annual event held in the town of Kendal, England, in the third week of November "to celebrate mountain culture through film, lectures, art and literature".

Peking University established its mountaineering association in 1989, and it has been the hub for outdoor extreme sports among China's colleges ever since.
