The 10th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo concluded in Beijing on Nov 1, with trade in cultural products and art works, and banks and enterprises cooperation in the cultural and creative industry sealing agreements worth 100 billion yuan ($15.78 billion) during the four-day event.

Around 1.98 million participants, including representatives from three international organizations, 46 delegations from 40 countries and regions, and delegations from 23 domestic provinces and cities took part in more than 100 activities such as exhibitions, presentations, trade fairs, forums, conferences, creative activities, and special sessions.

The China International Exhibition Center, main venue of the expo, received around 220,000 visitors from Oct 29 to Nov 1. The expo's symposium and three forums on the film industry, copyright, museums, and the animation industry attracted speeches from 42 high ranking officials, experts and scholars from international organizations, government departments, and enterprises, together with a further 1,400 people involved in the industry.

About 50 project promotion activities focused on cultural and creative industry financing, product trade, cooperation, and artwork auctions. These attracted 12,000 business people from home and abroad.

Compared with previous events, this year's expo saw a substantial increase in signing of projects related to broadcasting, film, online games, animation, and publications. In addition there was a marked increase in projects integrating culture, technology, creativity, tourism, and sports. Spot trade and cultural projects with financial investment also rose.

As Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei are implementing integrated development, the region's cultural and creative industries cooperated to make a joint presentation at the expo for the first time. More than 100 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei cultural projects were launched, covering animation games, performances, art works, intangible cultural heritage, industrial platforms, and parks.

The expo also provided opportunities for Chinese cultural enterprises to increase international exchanges and cooperation to spread Chinese culture.

The Go Global and International Cultural Cooperation program was held during the expo to promote projects for Chinese enterprises.

As a window on China's cultural industry development over the last ten years, the expo has demonstrated the industry's progress and been a platform to promote traditional and creative culture

The next expo is expected to be held from Oct 27 to 30, 2016.
