Young Chinese mothers can now get overseas professional advice and support at a mother and baby healthcare club in Beijing, which combines the experience of Chinese and Austrian experts.
A press conference on Aug 28 announced the establishment of the China Mother and Baby Healthcare Club, co-founded by China Women's News, the most influential newspaper for women in China, and EPOH, an Australian health company with 29 years' experience in mother and baby healthcare.
The club will give supportive care to the mother, day-to-day practical advice on health issues and promote safe, high-quality products for mother and her child, said Peter Hope, chairman of EPOH Health Tasmania.
Tasmania-based EPOH established its Elizabeth Hope Baby Club 29 years ago and has given over 500,000 consultations.
It is now launching a joint venture with China Women's News to create the Club in Beijing, with professional experience in nursing, pharmacy, medicine, nutrition, agriculture and manufacturing. The mature maternal and child service brand hopes to care for a healthy growth of newborns in China.
The China Mother and Baby Healthcare Club is composed of ten programs, including an expert committee, a maternal and child health research center, a charity hospital alliance, a psychological counseling center, a cross-border E-commerce center, and other health services.
It serves as a place to integrate and share resources in maternal and child care, with experts and scholars from both countries.
Meanwhile, China Women's News and China Women's Development Foundation also established the Special Fund for Maternal and Child Health in Beijing, to mobilize social resources and gather fund for mother and baby healthcare in China.
