Less crowded on Beijing's roads

Rush hour on Thursday (bottom) was noticeably less crowded than on Wednesday (top) at Yanshaqiao along the East Third Ring Road in Beijing, thanks to restrictions that started on Thursday and will last until Sept 3. Vehicles on the road will be cut by 35 to 50 percent, according to the city's transportation authorities.  Kuang Linhua / China Daily
