The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (E-Town) will open a bonded imports store by the end of the year, where residents will be able to conveniently buy imported goods.
The Beijing Yizhuang Bonded Logistics Center, located in the E-Town, made the announcement on Aug 6, adding that it will establish a bonded imported commodity purchase center with online and offline sales.
Many Chinese people buy overseas commodities for their quality or cheaper price. However, the buying can be complicated and fakes abound.
This store will free online shoppers from such troubles by offering popular overseas commodities, including mother and baby products, food, beverages, and health care products. It is expected to have the most diverse products of any such center in Beijing.
Some commodities may be about 10 percent cheaper than regular purchases, said Huang Jianhua, president of Beijing Yizhuang Bonded Logistics Center. Purchasers can also buy products at its cross-border E-shop.
As the store is located in the bonded logistics center, it allows cross-border traders and online sellers to choose the way of tariff payment. They can pay the tariff before sales, or they can store the commodities in the bonded warehouse of the logistics center and declare customs after sales, which can reduce costs and risks.
This preferential policy will attract companies doing cross-border trade, e-commerce, medical care, and cultural business to settle in the E-Town and open up Beijing's service industry.
