A Russian family, the Kozinets, donated an oil painting that the wife had done to the Beijing Auto Museum, in Beijing, on July 15.

The family has liked the Auto Museum very much from the first time they visited it and wanted to draw a painting for it.

The couple completed the painting, "Dream Car", drawing tulip and car in an ingenious way.

In commenting on the gift, Victor Konnov, a Russian cultural counsellor and director of Beijing Russian Culture Center, said, "There is no boundary for automobiles and art and they hope this painting can reflect our friendship and convey our best wishes."

China and Russia have a long history of cultural exchange. A friendship of the two countries can be traced back to ancient times, while the automobile culture also has a long standing history.

The museum's director, Yang Rui, said they see this as a starting point and will look for more cultural exchange opportunities with other countries.

Liu Shaohua, the Party secretary of the Museum, gave the Russian family a certificate. Di Tao, deputy-director of Beijing's Fengtai district, said that this art donation is important for cultural exchanges and that the district will increase its communication and cooperation with Russia and the Museum.

The Beijing Auto Museum is China's leading automotive car museum and has many classical cars on display, reflecting automotive history and culture.
