What is the "Seeking moral role models from Beijing" campaign about?
This campaign looks for people in Beijing who have done good things in their daily life. These people serve as role models for others to learn from, whether they help others, care for family, benefit society, have outstanding behaviors, or they are just dedicated, trustworthy, and industrious.
The campaign, organized by Beijing's publicity department and its Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee Office, will receive recommendations from the public.
After the recommendation period ends, 10 winning nominees will be chosen, both by online voters and a judging panel, from around 50 entries.
Timeline:
Jan - April: Promotional activities
May - Oct: Five nominees announced every week, and a total of 10 chosen every month
Nov - Dec: Ten moral role models selected, followed by an awards ceremony
How do we find moral role models?
The campaign's organizing committee will solicit recommendations for role models from grass-roots government departments, the media, and the general public between May and October.
An online platform – bjby.jbwmb.gov.cn and a hotline – 010-65661566 – will be accepting recommendations.
