The Fifth "China Mobile Cup" Koolearn Spoken English Contest, sponsored by China Mobile Communications Corporation and New Oriental Education and Technology Group concluded in Beijing on May 20.

Tens of thousands of students from around the country competed in qualifying rounds online and eventually, 24 outstanding contestants were selected to compete in the final.

Unlike other English competitions, the Koolearn Spoken English Contest combines group cooperation and business case studies, to test competitors’ analytical and logistics thinking skills.

After fierce competition, professional judges pick the team and individual winners, with one of the winners getting a 100,000 yuan ($16,249) scholarship from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. In addition, the competition was broadcast live on ke.qq.com, a professional online learning platform by Tencent Holdings, and the company will provide internship opportunities for the most popular competitor.
