Chinese auto shows have attracted many more participants, including manufacturers and customers, as consumers become more enthusiastic about new cars and Chinese and foreign automobile manufacturers provide a bigger variety of models. During an auto show in Wangfujing in Beijing on April 20, 2002, only 23 cars were on exhibition. The number of cars at the 2014 Beijing International Auto Show, soared to 1,134 from 14 countries, a record for the event.
