946 alpacas from Chile arrived in Beijing this week and were sent to a quarantine farm in Daxing district for inspection and quarantine.
The alpacas will stay in the farm for 30 days until cleared of infectious diseases. After that, some will settle in zoos and theme parks, while others will go to Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Autonomous Regions for the alpaca fiber industry.
