The CollegePre Institute, a preparation institution that provides digital language learning experience for students hoping to progress to senior high school and university in Europe and the US, opened in Beijing, on April 16, in cooperation with Cambridge University Press, Cambridge Assessment, and Cambridge English.
Simon Lebus, group CEO of Cambridge Assessment, explained the CollegePre Institute as, "an exciting prospect for pre-university education in China", adding, "I'm particularly pleased to be in partnership with the CollegePre technology team here in China whose work is making a new generation of educational delivery possible."
The institute has the support of high quality IELTS courses and assessment methods of Cambridge University, with the focus on mid-to-long-term IELTS courses that suit Chinese students even better than traditional short-term training products. It is also beginning an "Intelligent Class" that allows teachers and students to teach and learn in a completely digital environment, with the Cambridge ClassServer technology developed by the Cambridge University Press, Cambridge Assessment, and CollegePre.
Paul Colbert, global ELT sales director for Cambridge University Press, says, "The ClassServer technology, combined with quality-assured training will offer a secure, readily useable method for teachers to facilitate dynamic classroom and self-study learning", and that it will provide students at different ability levels with a variety of individualized learning paths to achieve their learning goal.
The CollegePre Institute will also use a brand new IELTS mock examination and a Student Record of Achievement (SRA) to link a student's learning process and their exam performance for better effect.
The "Intelligent Class" is the first approach of its kind globally and makes flipped classroom, assessment-oriented learning, personalized learning and team learning come true, in addition to improving the personal learning experience through big data technology.
The CollegePre Institute is expected to open its first flagship school in Beijing this year.
