Beijing Innovation Alliance (BIA) will set up a working committee for the collaborative innovation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with the support of its nearly 6,000 innovation members, according to the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
Huang Ping, secretary-general of the Alliance, said they will establish a "3+1" collaborative innovation system in 2015. "3" stands for three major functions, namely joint innovation, business incubation and demonstration promotion. "1" refers to a large platform that provides technology support and services for crossover cooperation.
"Beijing Innovation Alliance derives from the capital's reform of scientific and technological system. We will strengthen the cooperation with the Alliance and help Beijing continue to play the role as the national science and technology innovation center," said Yan Aoshuang, director of the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.
By the end of 2014, BIA has attracted 81 alliances and 5,907 member units. Sixty percent of them are based in Beijing, covering such emerging industries as new generation of information technology, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, and biological medicine.
