The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing is presenting new culinary delights for Easter at Barolo. The menu at the Italian style restaurant features cacao marinated duck breast served with duck liver pat and roasted eggplant, pan fried lamb cutlet, marinated eggplant, rosemary and black pepper sauce.

The Crowne Plaza Beijing Wangfujing is offering an Easter family brunch buffet at its Essence Restaurant. As well as an extensive selection of eastern and Western food, there will be fun activities. Children below the age of 6 can enjoy the buffet for free. Each adult can bring one child. 010-5911-9910

The Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai is offering a traditional Easter family brunch at 328 yuan per adult and 168 yuan per child. The menu features a range of Western and Asian main courses and the special kids buffet offers finger food and sweets. Children below the age of 12 are invited to eat for free.

New lounge

The China World Hotel, Beijing re-launched its Horizon Club Lounge, the city's largest executive lounge in the CBD. Its 756-square-metre lounge area, with seating for 126, includes a library and dining room. A function area of roughly 500 sq m features six individual meeting rooms for groups of six to 16 people.

New fragrance

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' new lobby scent candles, developed by perfumer Le Labo from New York, lit up in selected hotels across the world on March 28 in celebration of the annual lights-off event organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Andrew Rogers was appointed as the multi-property vice president and general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street.

The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou appointed Benedikt Kuhn as its food and beverage manager and Lili Wong as its director of sales and marketing.

Ernst Mayer was appointed as the general manager of InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort and Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town.

Competition

Marriott International North China organized a "Battle of the Chefs" at Choy's Seafood restaurant in the Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast on March 26. Chefs presented signature dishes for 30 guests as they competed for the best concept award.

Event

The Shanghai WH Ming Hotel will hold the Hotels and Food and Beverage Leader Summit on May 18. The Food Industry Association will host events and competitions including one to find the next cooking star, the best restaurants in China and the 2015 Catering Food Expo. 021-25258888

Award

The Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai, was named first choice for hospitality by the Consumer Electronics Show Asia, which was held from March 25 to 27 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center.
