Beijing's Pinggu district will stage the 17th International Peach Blossom Music Festival for one month starting from April 6.

A number of cultural activities are to be held during the festival, including an exhibition of strange stones, a photography competition, matchmaking event, peach picking and food specialties tasting.

The festival will reach a climax during an international music festival to be held from May 1 to 3. More than 40 top bands from home and abroad will entertain visitors at the China Music Valley Grassland Park in Pinggu district.

"16 years on since its first launch, Beijing Pinggu International Peach Blossom Music Festival has become not only an annual event in Beijing-Tianjin- Hebei region, but also a window showcasing the culture and beauty of Beijing to the people around the world," said Wang Hongyan, the director of the district's Publicity Department.
