There will be a willow culture festival opening on April 4, or Tomb-sweeping Day, at one of Beijing's idyllic scenery parks, according to park management, with the theme of "Promoting China's Traditional Culture through the Willow".
The site, Liuyin Park, whose name means 'willow shade', is in the Dongcheng district of Beijing and will have many traditional Chinese activities during the three-day event, such as a Han clothing show, willow tree planting, and a tea art show.
Students of Imperial College will be holding a calligraphy competition in the park during the festival to show some more Chinese culture.
The park is already known for its lovely stretch of willowy shade in the summertime and has long had the idea of promoting China's traditions in diverse ways involving the willow.
