The district of Pinggu on the outskirts of Beijing held a yangko parade on the main street to celebrate Lantern Festival on March 5.
It was the district’s annual celebration activity in Pinggu on the festival day. Besides more than 3,000 locals from the district, performers from neighboring Tianjin municipality and Hebei province came to join the festive carnival to bring various traaditional folk art performances, such as dragon and lion dances, land boats and a stilts show.
As the "Violin Manufacturing Base of China", Pinggu district is famous for its violin manufacturing. Students from the district played violin in the street parade.
