Yangliuqing New Year Painting |
As China's famous woodcut New Year painting, Yangliuqing New Year Painting combines the traditions of Chinese paintings of the Song and Yuan Dynasties and the forms of woodcut paintings, arts, and dramas of the Ming Dynasty to form a new painting technique incorporating woodblock and hand printing.
With a history of over 400 years, Tianjin Yangliuqing woodblock prints originated from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and have developed into Tianjin's representative folk art genre.
