The city of Beijing recently launched a campaign to protect intangible cultural relics with an acrobatic and magic show in Yungang, a residential community in the city’s Fengtai district.

The show also raised the curtain on this year’s Beijing College Student Magic Exchange Conference, which was sponsored by the city’s Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Beijing Acrobats Association.

The organizing committee will host the PK contest between young magicians from East China’s provinces, such as Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province in North China.

Each province or city in these two areas will select two candidates to compete on stage, as well as learn from each other.

Various activities, such as magic shows in campuses and residential communities and an art seminar for magicians from China and abroad, will be held during the three-month event.
