Beijing's Qualified Overseas Personnel Center took a group of overseas graduates to visit the city's Economic Technological Development Area, or E-town, on Dec 12, in hopes of getting the well educated to come to E-town to demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills.
The 18 graduates taking part in the activity are also members of the China Innovation and Development Association UK and got their education in the UK, all with the intention of setting up their own business in Beijing. There are 16 with PhDs, who bring with them specific projects in biomedicines, electronic information, financial management, environmental protection, new energy and new materials.
They toured the NAV Technology Co, which specializes in communications, GPS, and signal processing, and the BOE Technology (Group) Co, a supplier of semiconductor display solutions, both of them successful E-town companies, where the graduates exchanged business ideas with personnel and tried to learn more about the entrepreneurial environment of E-town.
E-town administrators and the Center also held a conference on business policies to give these young entrepreneurs information on areas they're interested in, with Na Lin, head of the center, and Wang Yu, its vice-director, expressing Beijing's strong desire to bring in people with overseas backgrounds, and explaining in detail how the process works.
Other E-town staff members also introduced their business policies and process that targets overseas graduates.
