Passenger detained for using phone

An air passenger who ignored warnings from flight attendants and used her phone repeatedly during landing was placed under five days' administrative detention by airport police. The woman, surnamed Yu, was traveling from Changchun to Beijing on Dec 28 when the incident happened. She used her phone to call friends who were due to pick her up as the plane was about to land, refused to switch off the device, and accused the attendants of overreacting. The police were alerted and were waiting when the aircraft landed.
