Capital's population slows pace of growth

Beijing's population this year slowed its pace of growth, with the newly added population 100,000 fewer than last year. Speaking at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 11th Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China on Wednesday, Guo Jinlong, Party chief of Beijing, said that the capital formulated a plan early this year to trim its population to mitigate urban problems, Beijing News reported.
