Zhongguancun unveiled a list of entrepreneurship stars for 2014, on Dec 17. A total of 20 enterprises made it to the list, including Bale, Playcrab, Hyperstrong and Weizoom. These enterprises are in the fields of biomedicine, software services, Internet of the next generation, big data, new energy and culture creativity, which have seen a 504 percent compound growth rate on average over the past three years.
The 20 enterprises own 218 patents and 418 software copyrights.
The list features young entrepreneurs, who are 35 years old on average. The goal of becoming Steve Jobs in the biological field and making genetic testing easier were reasons why Li Xiang, a distinguished expert in Beijing, established Coyote Bioscience.
These companies have laid eyes on a strategic emerging industry. Now, a total of 30 workers can handle feedback and interactive information from 80,000 people on Weibo, which would have been impossible in the past.
Weizoom uses big data technology to deal with semantic analysis, which enables 30 workers to run a customer service and interactive marketing system that needed at least 300 people in the past. To date, many famous producers and brands, such as Mi, Suning E-commerce and the Voice of China are Weizoom's clients, using social networking to achieve precision marketing. Starting its business in 2010, Weizoom’s sales volume has approached 100 million yuan ($16 million) this year.
Although the 20 companies have all been up and running for less than five years, their sales reached almost 70 million yuan on average in 2013.
