Ikea Group opens new shopping center in South Beijing

The Swedish LIVAT Shopping Centre, invested and wholly owned by Inter IKEA Centre Group, opened on Friday in Beijing.

Located near the South Fifth Ring Road, in the Xihongmen area, the brand new shopping centre will house more than 400 leading domestic and international brands and services. There are more than 6,500 parking spots.

The new center is jointly owned by the Inter Ikea Group and Ikea Group.

Its tenants cover entertainment, consumer electronics, lifestyle and fast fashion, as well as IKEA, Auchan Hypermarket, Suning Electronics, and Jinyi Cinema.

The Inter Ikea Centre Group is hoping to expand its appeal to Chinese families by opening more sites in the country's top 10 cities said Ding Hui, managing director of Inter Ikea Centre Group China.

Ding, said that the company has invested more than 10 billion yuan ($1.63 billion) on three projects in Beijing, Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, and Wuxi, in Jiangsu province.
