The exhibition Diego Rivera. Pride of Mexico is being shown at the National Art Museum of China, NAMOC, until December 9.
This exhibition is presented for the first time in Asia as part of the cultural exchange program promoted by the Mexican Government.
Diego Rivera is an indispensable reference in universal art. The exhibition, belonging to the cultural heritage of the State of Veracruz, includes 34 pieces representing 52 years of creative talent from Master Rivera. From landscapes created in 1904 to figurative paintings from 1956, the works are the result of several techniques such as painting, aquarelle, collage, and pencil, coal and ink drawings.
The collection includes landscapes, still-life pieces, portraits, nudes and scenes of daily life, representing different phases in art history such as naturalism, cubism and indigenous daily life scenes that deeply influenced Mexican painters of his time. Reproductions of some frescoes made by Rivera are also displayed in this exhibition.
