As a pioneer in environmental protection for the power generation industry, Beijing Guodian Longyuan Environmental Engineering Co Ltd has grasped the opportunities in the nation's ongoing strategic determination to conserve energy and reduce pollution.
The company based in Haidain Science Park and part of China Guodian Technology & Environment Group Corp was founded in 1993.
Guodian Longyuan was among the earliest in treatment of pollution from electric power generation.
After two decades of development, it has grown into a leading company reducing sulfur and nitrates in emissions from coal-fired power plants.
The company has expanded into diverse areas including manufacturing of a range of facilities for environmental protection.
Currently it has five branch companies and 35 franchised project-based corporations.
For nine consecutive years since 2005, the company has ranked first in national technologies for reducing emissions at power facilities.
Starting from scratch, the company built up its experience by acquiring technologies from other companies or institutions.
It gradually found its own path to technological development and now it owns more than 100 authorized patents.
The company successfully designed the first "double tower-double circulation" desulphurization system in China, which had a 168-hour test run in 2011.
After it was applied on two 300,000-kilowatt thermal power units at Guangzhou's Hengyun Enterprises Holdings Ltd in 2012, the system gained wide recognition in the industry and has been used on many other power plants in China.
In 2006, the company succeeded in taking the first step of going global by signing an agreement with Hong Kong Electric Co Ltd to install desulfurization equipment on the Lamma Power Station in Hong Kong.
Guodian Longyuan won trust from its business partners due to its international-standard management system and strict controls on quality and construction time.
The success brought Guodian Longyaun orders for all the desulfurization projects at Lamma Power Station.
