A seminar on intellectual property(IP) strategy was held in Beijing on Oct 29, focusing on China's IP policies in the era of globalization. It had an in-depth discussion on how Chinese enterprises can protect their patent rights in the international market.
The seminar was hosted by Zhou Yan, vice-director of the Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Bureau. Zhang Zhicheng, deputy director of the protection and coordination department at the State Intellectual Property Office and Liu Hang, member of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee spoke at the meeting. Nearly 300 people from government departments, colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises attended the event.
The seminar also invited nine experts such as Zhang Ping, executive vice president of the School of Intellectual Property in Peking University and Fan Zhiyong, vice-director of Huawei’s IP department, to deliver speeches on global strategy of IP rights, patent protection in the international market and IP creation, protection and application of enterprise innovation.
In recent years, more and more Chinese enterprises have acquired overseas intellectual property rights, and more innovative products have entered the international market. Though Chinese enterprises have accelerated their pace of internationalization, many challenges emerge because they have weak awareness about their intellectual property rights.
The seminar aims to help enterprises further understand the international IP rights situation and do a good job in IP development and protection.
