A seminar on the collaborative innovation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was held in the capital on Oct 20.
A total of 476 enterprises have set up 1,029 branches in Hebei province. Yonyou Software, for example, has set up subsidiaries in four cities in Hebei, namely Baoding, Cangzhou, Tangshan and Shijiazhuang, focusing on information transmission, sales and services of software and technology.
A total of 393 key enterprises in Zhongguancun have established 503 subsidiaries in Tianjin, such as ChangYou.com and Tiantan Botanical Company.
The project of the Beijing Rail Transport Hightech Industrial Park was launched in Tianjin on Oct 11. With an investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($196 million), it will target high-end designing consultation, core technology R&D, precise manufacturing, and professional training.
Apart from this industrial park, Zhongguancun has also been promoting the establishment of the Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology New City and the Qinhuangdao branch of Haidian Park.
It has also cooperated with cities in Hebei, such as Baoding, Tangshan, and Langfang, in establishing a base for the industrialization of science and technology, in the hope that a shared database of big data for Beijing and Tianjin will be established.
The Zhongguancun Science and Technology New City has worked out what kind of industries it will focus on. The base in Langfang has signed agreements for projects with an overall value of more than one billion yuan.
The ecological system of Zhongguancun originated from Xueyuan Road in Haidian district where there is a cluster of famous higher education institutes including Peking University and Tshinghua University. It can attract the best professionals and technology resources. This has been regarded as a location advantage; and now that advantage has been expanded to Tianjin and Hebei province.
This May, Peking University Science Park signed a cooperation framework agreement with Baodi District Government to jointly build the Beijing-Tianjin Science Park. This symbolizes the location advantage of expanding to Tianjin.
On its establishment, scientific research will get more development space in Tianjin. Meanwhile, innovation enterprises including E-Commerce, Service Outsourcing, and Mobile Internet, will gather in Tianjin, enjoying the branding effect of Peking University Science Park.
The Park has shared technology resources with Tianjin and Hebei province; and an innovation community made up of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province is emerging.
In the following half year, the Park will promote an innovative mode of regional science and technology cooperation, such as establishing a Beijing-Tianjin laboratory.
