Design Innovations from Finland, the first in the series of Pure Finland events was held at the Finnish Ambassador's residence in Beijing on September 18, 2014.
During the event, four known Finnish design and lifestyle brands – iittala, Marja Kurki, Reima and Suunto – presented their innovative productsand concepts under the umbrella of Pure Finland to the media, decisionmakers and design experts.

Finnish-Chinese relations thrive and there are more than 300 Finnish companies that do business with China, but not so many Finnish consumer and lifestyle brands are widely known to the Chinese customers. Marja Kurki, famous for its high quality scarves and ties, celebrates already its 20th anniversary in China, while glassware brand iittala, children’s outwear brand Reima, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, and sports instruments brand Suunto have established themselves in the Chinese market over the past few years.
Through the Design Innovations from Finland event, the organizers wish to get more attention to these valued Finnish brands that are known for their beautiful design, functionality and sustainability.
Aiming to prove that Finland is one of the most innovative countries in the world and that its innovations can greatly contribute to the development in China and around the globe, Pure Finland is a project that brings together some 30 Finnish public and private organizations.
The Pure Finland events will present several cool aspects about Finland - its dynamic consumer brands; attractive options for tourists, investors and students; latest scientific and technological innovations; unique cultural creations and many others – between September and December 2014, mainly in Beijing.
