Digital China and Hebei province signed a smart-city cooperation agreement on Sept 10, which calls for the company to build sites for public information, city management, public health, cloud security, and rural property rights.
Zhou Benshun, Hebei provincial Party secretary, explained at the signing ceremony, "Since the Bohai Region is becoming a popular spot for the reforms and opening, coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region provides an historical opportunity. And this smart city strategy will benefit local resident and regional integration at the same time."
Zhou went on to add that, "Digital China has excellent personnel and technology and leading ideas on smart city development and I believe the cooperation will bring energy and vitality to the region."
Supporting this was Guo Wei, chairman of the Board of Digital China, who added, "We'll do everything we can to promote people's livelihood, economic prosperity and good governance in Hebei province and help it build smart cities."
Hebei has been active in smart city development, with the city of Qinghuangdao signing its own cooperation agreement with Digital China, on Feb 28, for a program to build a public-information service platform.
