A bar street featuring specialty catering of 12 countries in a small town in Beijing's Huairou district will open in late October, Beijing Times reported on Tuesday.
The 100-meter-long street will gather a number of themed restaurants, including an Italian restaurant, British tea restaurant, German beer house and Spanish restaurant.
It will provide high-end business support services for the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting, which will be held from Nov 10-11 at Yanqi Lake in Huairou district.
The town, located in the Yanqi Lake tourism area, is only 1.7 kilometers away from the venue of the APEC summit. Covering an area of 300,000 square meters, it is an ecological town based on European characteristics.
The Yanqi Lake tourist area received 297,000 visitors from May to August, an increase of 36,000 over the same period last year, with tourism income reaching 19.8 million yuan ($3.23 million). As the APEC meeting approaches, the area has seen rapid growth in visitors since August.
