Crowds expected at Major events across the city

Science Popularization Day

Since 2005, National Science Popularization Day has fallen on the third weekend of every September. Every major city has its own activities.

Science and Technology Week

Since 2001, National Science and Technology Week has fallen on the third week of May. In 2014, more than 160,000 visitors in Beijing went to hosting sites with various science activities including experiencing new technology and watching science documentaries.

Beijing Science and Technology Festival

Organized by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, the event provides a platform for a wide range of audiences from Beijing and surrounding areas, especially for children to learn and experience science.

Beijing Youth Science Creation Competition

The annual event organized by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology aims to inspire innovation and discover young talent in college and universities. In 2014, over 300,000 students in Beijing joined the event.

Beijing High School Science Camp

The science summer camp in Beijing utilizes science resources such as labs in universities and science institutes and is open to high school students. This year, 2,490 students joined the camp, including 790 from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
