The Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and China's leading heavyweight steelmaker Shougang Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Beijing on Aug 12, Science and Technology Daily reported on Wednesday.
The two parties will develop Shougang Group's industrial parks in Beijing and Caofeidian, Hebei province, into an important base for the big data industry in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The two will also establish industry funds for the coordinated development of the region to promote its emerging industries.
Zhongguancun will make full use of the company's resources in various fields, including the iron and steel industry, environmental industry, and equipment and auto parts manufacturing industry. It will provide a platform for enterprises to showcase their new technology and products.
What's more, Zhongguancun will help Shougang's Beijing industrial park to attract local and overseas leading companies and industrial technology alliances to settle there. The company's research and development institutions will be brought into open labs in Zhongguancun to offer R&D resources to small and medium enterprises.
