The 2014 World Grape Conference Industry and Economy Forum was held in Yanqing's Badaling International Exhibition Center, Beijing, on July 29.
A wide range of experts and scholars from China and abroad attended the forum to discuss current trends in wine consumption and plans for developing the Chinese wine market.
The forum focused on the benefits of wine and how they relate to health, tourism and popular consumption.
It paved the way for wine development in China, especially for its host, Yanqing. The county in the suburbs of Beijing benefited from the many suggestions of agriculturalists, economists and entrepreneurs all over the world on how to promote its grape industry.
Yanqing expressed its hope of attracting global high-end wineries and grape-breeding bases, which will in turn bolster its tourism industry and environmental development.
