Children on their summer vacations can have fun with chemistry and learn about natural sciences through interactive experiments at the BASF Kids' Lab program, which runs through Aug 3, at the China Science & Technology Museum.

The annual program, organized by the world's largest chemical company, offers children the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiments themed "we create chemistry that makes WOW love WHY".

"Education is a key focus of BASF's social commitments in China and around the world," said Albert Heuser, president of greater China and functions Asia Pacific, BASF.

"We believe chemistry enables a sustainable future," he said.

"Through experiments closely linked with daily life, we aim to inspire both 'wow' and 'why' from children, so that they can develop an interest in science and exploration from an early age".

The China Science & Technology Museum, an important center for popular science education for young people in China, is hosting the program for budding scientists.

Zhu Youwen, director of Exhibition and Education Center, China Science & Technology Museum, said: "BASF Kids' Lab not only stimulates curiosity but cultivates each kid's interest in science and chemistry, also raising environmental protection awareness. We hope that our collaboration can inspire more kids to learn and love science."

BASF and the museum will continue to jointly host the science seminar, aiming to increase the public's awareness that chemistry plays a pivotal role in addressing global challenges and enhancing people's quality of life.

The three experiments this year include "mallow indicator", "water purification" and "colorful butterfly - fly!".
