The owner of a rented house stole an ID card, bus card and medical insurance book from his tenant, Beijing Times reported on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old landlord, surnamed Wang, took the items on March 21 while the tenant, surnamed Guo, was out. Wang's wife found Guo's cards and book and reported the matter to the police. Wang was jailed for four months and given four months' probation.
