As an important transport Commuting by subway is increasingly important to people in Beijing. It is and Beijing is the only city in China to use a uniform fare system.the traditional Chinese New Year holiday which is on Feb 10 this year, is the most important holiday in the lunar calendar for Chinese people as millions return home to reunite with their families for the special occasion.

The holiday is also the largest migration of human beings on the planet as millions of people cram on to trains, planes and automobiles to get home for the festival.

However, the journey home is not always as festive and smooth as it should be as 3.41 billion journeys are made during the holiday, including 225 million railway passengers.
