Zhang Jiaxin, born in 1990, is a PhD candidate at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
He and his classmates launched a program to help the elderly in May 2011.
"We want to teach them how to use computers," said Zhang Jiaxin. The program has benefited more than 100,000 senior citizens so far.
In 2012, he founded a university league to spread positive energy. The league attracted 81 public interest groups from colleges and universities including Beijing and Tsinghua universities.
Zhang also organized a conference on entrepreneurship in Beijing in March of this year. Nearly 140 students from over 30 colleges and universities nationwide took part in the event.
