Marathon runners told to use public toilets

Runners in the Beijing Marathon who relieve themselves in public along the route will be disqualified, it was reported yesterday. Last year many competitors urinated against walls in the Inner City dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. This year anyone who cannot wait until the end of the race and does not use public toilets will face punishment, said the Beijing Youth Daily. The marathon takes place on October 19.
