The 2014 Beijing International Imported Food Expo, themed "Share the Global Taste", kicked off in Beijing on July 4 and lasted for three days, xinhuanet.com reported on Sunday.
The expo attracted nearly 300 food-related organizations from over 30 countries and regions, including the US, France, Spain, Italy and Turkey.
Foods from five continents in total came together to make a gluttonous feast for visitors: German beer, Canadian maple syrup, French wine, foie gras and cheese, Spanish olive oil, and Russian bread.
In recent years, about 20,000 varieties of imported food have become popular among consumers in Beijing. As a result, foreign food producers and traders are increasingly expanding their business in China.
This year's food expo was sponsored by the China Chamber of International Commerce and Zhenwei Exhibition Co.
