In order to handle the overwhelming crowds during the summer season, the Palace Museum will control the sale of tickets and number of ticket offices according to visitor volumes.
The exit at Upright Gate (Duanmen) and the entrance at the Meridian Gate (Wumen) will be opened. A priority lane will be available for group tickets and reservations.
The museum has set up an emergency command center and improved its contingency planning in case of any incident, such as a fire, robbery, public order incident, stampede or terrorist attack.
In addition, the museum will also expand its security team by adding 75 people for a group of tasks, such as patrolling, handling incidents and searching for illegal advertisements and unlicensed businesses. A police station at the Palace Museum can provide police reinforcements when necessary.
The medical service center at Jianting Square inside the museum will offer first aid for visitors as well.
